Georgian Parliament Vice Speaker from the ruling Georgian Dream party, Gia Volski, says that the recent decision of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, to recall ambassador Igor Dolgov from Georgia, is connected with a group of Georgians who hold key posts in Ukraine and are affiliated with the United National Movement (UNM) opposition party.

Volski has assessed the ambassador's recall as a demarche and said that it was an insult not only to the Georgian government, but also to the Georgian people.

He stated that the Georgian government and the people have done their utmost to ensure political and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Volski said that the country will continue to support Ukraine “no matter what decisions Zelensky made or the group of the people who are not only affiliated, but are part of the United National Movement.”

He stressed that Georgia was praised by OSCE chairman-in-chief , Polish FM yesterday for its support for Ukraine, as well as other foreign leaders.

Zelensky said yesterday that the ambassadors who were unable to assure the governments of the states where they represent Ukraine to impose sanctions on Russia and ensure aid with weapons or other resources, would have to find another job.

He said that ambassadors in Georgia and Morocco would be recalled.
