New British Ambassador to Georgia views iconic poem manuscripts at Bodleian Library

The newly appointed British Ambassador to Georgia, Gareth Ward, has visited the Bodleian Library in Oxford before his official arrival in Georgia, the UK Embassy to Georgia reported on Tuesday. 

During this visit, he viewed two 17th-century manuscripts of The Knight in the Panther's Skin, a revered Georgian epic poem by Shota Rustaveli. 

 

These manuscripts, part of the Wardrop Collection, are recognized by UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register for their cultural significance.
