Thousands of employees at the online casino Evolution Georgia have launched a strike on Friday, demanding better working conditions and higher wages. 

According to the trade union, over 5,000 employees, constituting more than half of the company's workforce, are participating in the protest.

The primary grievances of the strikers include inadequate pay, insufficient break times, poor sanitary and hygienic conditions in the workplace, and a lack of safety and comfort. They are also advocating for improvements in the company's insurance package, the provision of healthier meals and food vouchers, and an end to discriminatory practices.

Tensions escalated following the circulation of screenshots from several years ago, revealing disparaging remarks and mockery directed at employees in a company chat by Evolution Georgia management. 

The screenshots, initially shared on social media, have sparked discussions about workplace culture and management behaviour.

Despite the age of the screenshots, current employees interviewed by domestic media alleged that such disrespectful attitudes persisted among some members of the management team.

Responding to the allegations, Evolution Georgia issued a statement promptly on the following day, condemning the content of the messages as unacceptable. The company has pledged to investigate the matter thoroughly and has assured the public of its commitment to taking stringent actions.
