During the summer navigation season, 13,600 flights are scheduled from Georgia. According to the Ministry of Economy, 18% of these flights are planned for Europe, 17% for Gulf countries, 13% for Russia, and the remaining 52% for other destinations.
From June to October, the flight distribution is as follows:
Europe: 2,480 flights
Gulf countries (Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar): 2,255 flights
Russia: 1,761 flights
On May 20, Radio Liberty reported that 401 flights between Russia and Georgia are planned for June alone. The breakdown of scheduled flights to Russia in June by airline is:
Red Wings: 153 flights
Azimuth: 145 flights
Georgian Airways: 103 flights
Unlike previous years when flight schedules were published on the Civil Aviation website, this information is no longer public. On April 8, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) sent a letter to the agency requesting information about flights to Russia but did not receive a response. According to the Ministry of Economy, from January to April, Georgian airports served 1,946,881 passengers on both regular and non-regular flights.
